About Torpedo Datacenters

Torpedo Datacenters is a specialized advisory and infrastructure origination platform focused on power-driven data center development worldwide. The firm works across North America, Europe, and the Middle East to help identify, structure, and advance sites capable of supporting hyperscale and AI infrastructure.

At its core, Torpedo Datacenters operates at the intersection of energy strategy, infrastructure planning, and hyperscale operator requirements, helping transform industrial regions and powered land into globally competitive digital infrastructure platforms.

The company is led by its Founder and Principal, Itay Bohbot, who brings more than a decade of experience across the full lifecycle of mission-critical infrastructure development and operations.

Before founding Torpedo Datacenters, Itay worked with Compass Datacenters, where he participated in the development and construction of hyperscale campuses built specifically for Amazon Web Services. This work provided direct exposure to how global cloud operators evaluate land, grid infrastructure, scalability, and long-term operational resilience when selecting new locations.

Following this experience, Amazon recruited Itay to join its operational team within an AWS data center environment. In that role, he was responsible for mission-critical reliability, infrastructure performance, and operational excellence inside one of the world’s most demanding cloud platforms.

Hands-on experience across hyperscale development, construction, and operations informs Torpedo Datacenters’ approach to site origination and regional infrastructure strategy.

Through this experience, Torpedo Datacenters focuses on the critical factors that drive global location decisions for large-scale digital infrastructure:

  • Utility-scale power availability and grid reliability
  • Speed to energization and delivery certainty
  • Multi-phase scalability beyond initial capacity
  • Industrial zoning and regulatory clarity
  • Long-term cost structure and operational efficiency
  • AI-ready cooling strategies and high-density deployments
  • Infrastructure redundancy and operational resilience

Today, Torpedo Datacenters advises landowners, developers, utilities, private equity groups, and regional economic development authorities on how to structure sites and regions to meet hyperscale and AI infrastructure requirements.

Rather than acting solely as a broker, the firm provides strategic guidance across power infrastructure, site readiness, and hyperscale operator alignment, helping accelerate the development of globally competitive data center locations.

Working With Regions and Governments

The global race to attract hyperscale and AI infrastructure is increasingly shaped by energy policy, industrial planning, and long-term economic strategy.

Regions that successfully compete on the global stage typically share several structural advantages:

  • Coordinated energy and grid planning
  • Clear and predictable permitting frameworks
  • Scalable industrial land reserves
  • Competitive fiscal and tax positioning
  • Alignment between public policy and private infrastructure deployment
  • Strategic positioning for AI and next-generation workloads

Torpedo Datacenters works with regional governments, investment promotion agencies, and infrastructure stakeholders around the world to help position their territories for sustainable digital infrastructure investment.

By aligning hyperscale operator requirements with regional capabilities, Torpedo Datacenters bridges the gap between public strategy and private deployment, accelerating time to market while strengthening long-term economic impact.

Vision

Digital infrastructure is no longer regional. It is global, power-driven, and increasingly shaped by the rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence.

Regions that proactively plan for energy capacity, industrial zoning, and scalable infrastructure will lead the next era of economic growth.

Torpedo Datacenters connects global hyperscale demand with regions prepared to execute.
